sync files laptop to desktop

Have problem that I haven't run into before. Have files that were worked on
the laptop out of the office. Plugged the laptop into the network when got
back put the files in my network drive but now they don't show up on the
network drive from my desktop computer.

Help?

Event logs?
Any offline file syncing going on at all?
