symbols on desktop

When I turned on my computer the was no letters only
symbols. I could log on to my account but I couldn't read
anything everything was symbols. I had to do a factory
restore on my computer. Does anyone know what could of
caused this?
 
Not sure but I worked at a company as network admin and one of the
employees deleted his windows fonts and had that happen. Could be you
changed the default windows fonts to graphic symbols.

Computer was working fine. I shot down the computer
before going to bed. When I turned it on in the morning
all symbols. The only areas there was no symbols was in
system information.

This is a glitch that happens sometimes. Sometimes it is because of a
third-party program that has installed fonts and somehow messed up the
system fonts. Sometimes it is just mysterious. It is great that you
were able to restore your computer. They are wonderful machines, but
they mess up sometimes. Have good backups of your data and it won't
matter too much.
