symbol for divided by

Isn't there a division symbol somewhere? e.g., 4 divded by 2 - where the
words divded by would be replaced with the standard symbol for dividing...

Alt+0247 (that is, hold down the Alt key, and type 0247 from the
numeric keypad).

Or in Word 2002 and 2003, type 00f7 and press Alt+X.

You can also, from the menu, click on INSERT and select SYMBOL. If necessary
click the SYMBOLS tab and verify that the font selected is Symbol. If not,
drop down the list of available fonts and change the font to Symbol in the
FONT combo box.

The ÷ sign is in the 6th row and is the 13th character going from left to
right across the row.
