Symantec error and TCPIP settings

During bootup the Symantec (Norton AV) program notifies
me that my TCPIP may not be configured correctly as it
will not scan my email messages. I checked the regedit
as suggested and noticed that under the tcpip file folder
I have the "CurrentVersion" file as required for XP.
However, there is no value set for the default. What
should that value be? Thanks.
