I've just read you cannot switch identities with Windows Mail. What a pain!
We have 2 email accounts set up. With Outlook Express we could switch
identities so we'd have our own inboxes, etc. with a clean look. With all
emails coming into one box, we'll have confusion determining whose is which
email. Anyone know of another option?? I am seriously considering
installing Outlook.

Windows Mail does not have identities like Outlook Express did.
By default, all email from all accounts goes into the same Inbox.
There are four different ways of fixing that:

1. Use separate Windows user logins. That gives total privacy.

2. Use message rules to filter incoming messages into
separate folders.

3. Upgrade to Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account, no rules needed: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

4. Purchase an add-on called WMIDs:

I'm sure the author of that program, Steve Cochran, will be along
shortly to address your specific comments.
However, if your main interest was in having separate Deleted Items
folders, Windows Live Mail does that very nicely:

The problems you were having with the settings not being saved were likely
due to you not clicking the Update button after making the changes or were
due to 3rd party programs preventing the changes from being recorded.

Please read the original message that came with the program, as it specifies
were to locate the help file as well as stressing the need to use the update
button to save the changes.

Future discussions of the software should be directed to the author via
email.
