i am having a hell of a time getting Microsoft Outlook to be recognized as my
one and only mail program....everything keeps going to Outlook Express no
matter what settings I change. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

As i don't know what you've tried, first thing i'd check is go into Internet
Explorer click Tools/Internet options then click the programs tab and check
Outlook is selected as your email program.

Thank you for the response....I do have Microsoft Outlook selected there.
Everytime I try to open Outlook (not Express), the screen goes black and the
Outlook comes up, with an error screen that says: No profiles have been
created. To create a new profile go to email in settings...etc....

But I have done that over and over, switching all the settings to Outlook
instead of Outlook Express, and deleting out Express everywhere... Just keep
running into a dead end.

When I click OK on that error screen, the screen goes black for an instant
then comes back to my desktop.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Hi,

This is taken from another posting to someone with a similar problem
Hi,

Did you try creating another profile ?? Also see if this helps solve your
problem --

1. Quit all running programs.
2. Use the Find feature and search for Mapi32.dll files.
3. Rename Mapi32.dll files to Mapi32old.dll. To do so:
- Right-click the file name.
- Click Rename on the shortcut menu.
4. Close the Find dialog box, and then restart Outlook. You might be
prompted about the changes. Accept it and hopefully, your problem should
be
solved.

If you encounter any problems then you always have the option of renaming
the files back to their original file name.
Hope this helps, If not if may be an idea to post this message in an Outlook
newsgroup.
