Switching default "VIEW"?

Whenever I download files from a filesharing network, a newsgroup or
the web, the default "view" in Win Explorer is "tiles" while I prefer
the "details" view.

Is there a way to switch my default view to "details" ?

Tools / folder options / view

Set your default view there.
