Switch User By Shortcut?

This was a request from the Mrs. :)

Is there a way to create a shortcut that would automatically switch users?
ie, I'm logged on and my desktop is showing. If my wife sits down and wants
to switch users to go to her settings, she would simply have to click an icon
rather than hitting start > log off > switch user > "name".

Thanks!

I actually have that page in my favorites and it was one of the first ones I
checked. :) I did see "Add Switch User to the Start Button & RC" but figured
I'd ask about the shortcut.

I guess that'll do if a shortcut isn't an option. :)

Thanks!

Ok, right click the Desktop and select: New/Shortcut. In the first line
paste in:
rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation and then hit Next.

For the second line: Name it Switch User then hit finish.

That is totally awesome! You rock!

Now, not that I'm not totally impressed and ecstatic lol, but is there a way
to put the name of the user you want to switch to? ie
%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation <wife> If not, no
big deal as that shortcut totally kicks butt!

Thank You Very Much!!

Kelly, I tried your shortcut, and for me it just brought up the welcome
screen (same as if I'd have hit Win+L). Is that what it was 'sposed to do?

Hi

Yes, "rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation" is the same as pressing
WinKey+L
