Ted Basile

MS gurus,
My home desktop came loaded with Outlook Express and
Outlook 2002. For some reason we have been using Outlook
Express (Comcast is my email service provider) and I would
much rather start using Outlook 2002/2003 to take
advantage of the robust calendar and contacts functions.
FYI - I can open up Outlook 2002 in my desktop but it
won't recognize any incoming email messages. Therefore,
my question is: How do I set up Outlook 2002 to accept
incoming email messages.and "turn off" Outlook Express in
the process. Many Thanks!!

Outlook 2003 comes with an import function that allows
the switch form OE to Outlook. It is under file I
believe.

For your email you need to configure your email account.
To do this go to tools, email accounts, and from there
add your settings.

hope that helps

Ted,

In Outlook express, there is an account set up so that
mail from your ISP will be funnelled to Outlook Express.
Go into it (Tools, Internet Accounts, Programs) and
change the listing from Outlook Express to Outlook. Note
the name of the mail server(s) in the details. You'll
need them.

Now, go into Outlook 2002 and choose Tools, Email
accounts, and choose to Add a new email account (if
outlook isn't hooked up yet), or change an email account
if it is. Follow the steps in the wizard to add your
account from a POP3 account. You will need to know:
Your Comcast login and password
Your Comcast mail server

Good luck,

Thanks Joe. I'm working on it.
