Hello,

I have a problem with my 2/mail address that I use at home and at the
office!!!

The problem is that I must use my home ISP SMTP server when I try to send
mail at home and when I'm at the office I must use my office ISP SMTP
server!!!
This is what I need:
1. When I want to send mail from my home it should use the home ISP SMTP
server
2. When I want to send mail from my office is should use the office ISP SMTP
server

Is' it possible to configure this so that the use don't need to adjust any
settings every time the switch between the office and home ISP??

Regards,
Kenneth

You could try writing a script/program that will automatically change the
SMTP server name based on factors that different between home & the office.
I use the IP address to make the decision in an app I wrote for myself. You
might also want to look into something like NetSwitcher which can do that (I
think)

There might be an easier way. Most ISPs have it so if you are one one of
their IPs they let you route mail without having to logon to the server.
ISPs know these days you travel a lot so most allow you to use their servers
if you log on.

I have a mobile user that has Speakeasy so she just has to configure her
outgoing SMTP server with her logon information and she can send email from
her home or office or here whether she is connected to their network or not.
Call your ISP and see if they will do the same for you.

Now, when you are in your company's network you have a few options if they
restrict Internet access and prevent you from using other SMTP servers.
Your network adminstrator can create the same account name as your ISP and
give it the same password then configure a static DNS entry on their DNS
server that says "your_isp.mailserver.com" is their mail server's IP
address. This way when your on the road you can get the right IP for the
ISP server and when you are in the office, you will get their server.

Or, your company IT can create a static route on one of their routers that
allows you to get to your ISP's mail server. None of my clients are
configured with a default gateway so they all have to use our email and
Proxy server to get Internet access, but we have some applications that
require access to one server on the Internet so I have a route just for that
server.

Hope this helps
