If your XP Professional is a Retail rather than an OEM version then
there is no problem in moving that license to a different computer.

yep, retail
Is your new Windows XP Home OEM a generic version provided by
Microsoft to your supplier, or is it a "branded" copy with the name
and logo of a computer/motherboard manufacturer on it? If it is the
latter then it may be a "BIOS Locked" OEM version that cannot be
activated on a motherboard that is not from that specific OEM.

Pretty sure it will be a generic version but really in the end I guess I
really dont need the Proffesional version

Good luck

thx

Am building a new computer and it will come with Home OEM version. Now I
would like to remove my Professional version from my current computer and
install the OEM version on that and put Professional on the new Computer.
Will there be a problem with me doing this ?

An OEM version of Windows XP cannot be transferred to
a different computer. The license is forever tied to the very
first computer it is installed and activated on.
