swain worm

OMG...swain worm and supposed repair had recked my
system. Have saved some stuff to CD. Some programs
still working like Money and photo. files. But, have
lost Email address book details because exe. file will
not come up ... "cant find xxxxxexe".
I understand I will have to clean the hard drive but is
there any way I can retrieve the address book info???
Please help if u can...Oh I am not technically very
computer literate.

If it is the swen worm that you have. There is a fix
that you can d/l that should fix the changes that it
made. Try to get the fix from symantec.com or just copy
and paste this link.

tried..just now...comes up after d/l without exe

Try to run the fix from safe mode, i recently fixed a
customers computer with your same problem, i just don't
remember how i done it. It was something like that, but
try safe mode, that might help
