How can I allow my anti-virus program (McAfee VirusScan) to clean a
virus out of the System Volume Information folder on one of my drives?
I can't clean, delete or quarantine it; only stop it. VirusScan is
telling me I have the W32/Spybot.worm.gen.

Any help is appreciated.

Turn off System Restore then clean your system.

Thanks for your answer Kelly. I did that and when I scanned that
drive, the scan came up empty. I right clicked on the SVI folder and
chose properties, and it showed zero files in zero folders. VirusScan
hasn't alerted me to to the worm since I turned off System Restore.
