I found svcvhostp32.exe when I was goin through msconfig
and I can't find any documentation on this file
whatsoever. I disabled system restore scanned it for
viruses and came up with a clean system. I deleted
svcvhostp32 from the registry under the "run"
and "runservices" in regedit. I then rebooted the
machine and when I checked msconfig and regedit they were
both there again. I then did a search and found this
executable file in the windows/system32 folder as well as
a svcvhostp32.exe.poly file. Have you ever seen this
before? I have no idea what to do other than delete the
damn thing, but I still would love to know what it is,
how it got there and what it really does.
Please help if you can.

Sounds like malware.
Try running spybot search and destroy,
also ad-aware 6.x for good measure.
Also use the online virus scan at trend micro (housecall).
