Hi Mark - Try running Dial-a-Fix from Safe Mode. This has been reported to
fix similar install issues when Dial-a-Fix has failed in normal mode as you
are experiencing.

|||| I have tried this too and still have the SVCHost.exe taking 99% of
|||| the CPU. I have been fighting this for about a month. If I use Task
|||| Manager to end this particular SVCHost.exe, the problem is
|||| eliminated but this also takes out other functions such as sound.
|||| Any other ideas would be appreciated.

|||| I did this and dial a fix makes it to the SSL/HTTPS/Cryptography

|||| ect. Funny, even though it did not finish and I had to end program
|||| from Task Manager (it states here it is unresponsive), I am no

||| I wouldn't say "it's fixed" just yet...
|||
||| Do this while you're "okay"...
|||
||| 1) Download/Install Windows Update v3.
|||
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=91237
|||
||| (You may need to install it using the command line switch
||| "/wuforce" right after a reboot/logging in...)
|||
||| 2) Download/Install the 927891 patch.
|||
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7A81B0CD-A0B9-497E-8A89-404327772E5A
|||
||| 3) Reboot.
|||
||| 4) Visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and scan for and
||| install critical updates (if you don't have IE7 - it's not
||| *actually* critical - so it can be unchecked if you wish.)
|||
||| Come back - let us know...
