I keep having problems with svchost.exe when i boot up. This then means that
certain programs cannot be started and the omputer doesn't boot up with all
of the programs available.Can I download a diffreent svchost.exe to cure this
or has anyone else had similar??

svchost.exe is very important .
It's the parent task for most of XP's services which run
behind the scenes.
Enter services.msc from the RUN box to get a llist.

What is the problem exactly? Some malware is known to affect
this file so do a full virus scan.

svchost.exe is the generic name for any dll loaded into memory. Start > run
"cmd" without the quotes > "tasklist /svc" will show you what's actually
