Svchost.exe consuming most of cpu resources

I am running XP home edition and have had problems with Svchost.exe taking up 70-90% of my cpu resources for about the last week. I have found two Microsoft knowledge base articles addressing this problem, but both do not apply to my system.

I have run Spybot a number of times and am clean in that regard.

I just cannot find anything to help me. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
 
Scan for virus.
Some virus has name smiliar to svchost.exe to fool to think it is the real
svchost.exe
Check the spelling carefully.
