I did everything you said. Adware and Spyware gone, no
virus and I received all green for the Symatic Security
test. But I still get the the error box: 10057-Socket not
connected. What do I do now?

If you are using a third-party firewall, disable it and use the
one in Windows XP. It may be the firewall is the culprit by
not allowing a connection to a certain program attempting
to access the internet.
