I received an email addressed To: "MS Partner"
From: "Microsoft". It has two (2) attachments: one is
a .txt info file and the other is a q313353_exe.dat(123KB).

It's very official looking with references to "July 2003,
Cumulative Patch" update, affecting Internet
Explorer..."Install now to protect your computer....."

I called Microsoft and forwarded the email to them per
their request. I just received the following reply:

"I consulted with my team manager on site regarding the
email you had received that was sent out. My team
manager's input on this email is that the email, although
very official looking in nature did not originate from
Microsoft. His recommendation is that you delete the
email from your system and do not open the executable file
attached."

Anyone having received a similar email procede with
caution.

Comments please,

Larry
