How do I know if my SUS is working. I have my clients set up according to
the deployment paper and have the server synchronized and accepted updates
set. All the logs seem to be working correctly, but when I set the clients
to get updates in the upcoming hour, nothing happens. Does this all happen
behind the scenes? and if so where do I find out who's been updated?

Thanks,

You might go to one of the clients and check the Automatic Updates settings.
If everything is greyed out then you know your policy took affect. That is
the only way I know; I had the same question at one point.

Does anyone else know of a way to check? Perhaps in the event log?

In the windows folder is a file called "Windows Update.log".
If you open this file with notepad, it will contain the update history.
Just look for the name or IP of your SUS server.
What I do is I have the clients set to update at 2 AM.
At 7 AM I have a batch file run with a scheduled task to copy all of the
Windows Update.log files to my machine in a folder, and save each with the
name of the computer it came from.
By looking at the creation dates, I can easily see who is updated and who
has not.
