In our organisation, we installed a sus server.
When on the client side, winXP pro is running under a user
account (with user permission), the update service doesn't
install patch or fix. If we try to run the service under a
local administrative account, we got the following error
message
"error 1079: The account specified for this service is
different from the account specified for other services
running in the same process".

Nothing in the technet.
Does somebody know how to solve this problem?

Check what account the Windows Installer service starts as.
In XP Sp1 import the Sus optional download wuau.adm into
the administrative templates portion of local policy.
Then you can set all 4 policies, and if you choose to have the
Automatic Update client install without the user being able to
say NO then updates will install even if user is non-admin.

how do you set "Automatic Update client install without the user being able t
say NO" ?

if I log on as administrator on the computer, I get all the messages and able to install updates, but, if I run as a non-admin, nothing is happening (that I can see)
thx,travi
