Hi,

I have a problem with summarizing values with measurement units e.g.
kilos (kg), seconds (s) metres (m).
I mean that I want to put in one cell 60kg and to one below it 2kg and
then I want to sum it so that the sum would be 62kg.
Thanks in advance for the answer :p

Hi

Set up a custom format like 0kg. This will then add 'kg' to each cell but
still allow the amounts to be added etc.

Andy.

Dear Juha
You can do this, by first formatting the cell. The steps are like this:
1. Select format cell (by highlighting the column first)
2. Select Number tab.
3. Select Custom line in the white Category window.
4. Type in the "Type" field (most likely contains the word General): 0,0 "kg" (the kg must be included in the quotes).
5. Change the content of the fields, instead of writing 60 kg - you only write 60 (the numbers), Excel adds the units behind automatically.
This should solve the problem.
Actually, by this way, you can have any unit with the number.

I hope this solves the problem:)
