sumif based on fill color

Working on budget sheet. would like to maintain running
count of amounts not yet paid, so when i pay a bill, i
can change the cell background color (fill) from none to
grey. would like to have a sumif statement be able to
count only those cells with no background color.

anybody have the correct syntax?
