Sumhours at end of the week

Hi im tring to sum the value of 5 different cells that already have
aformula in i tried =sum (f4,i4 and so for but the resul its 8 when the
actual result should be 40 any ideas in what im doing wrong any help
would be appreciated
A4 has the name of the employee d4 the time he or she came in E4 time
out and f4 the total hours - the 1/2 for lunch and i want to sum the
total hours worked at the end of the week

Try =SUM(F4:I4) although that is only 4 cells, and you mentioned 5! But
at least you can see how the formula should be set out!
