Why not have a microsoft.public.my_pc_has_another_virus news group.
Wouldn't that be popular?

Have a nice day.

There is no known earthly reason for anyone of reasonable intelligence to
ever get a virus.

There is no known earthly reason for anyone of reasonable intelligence to
ever get a virus. There is no known earthly reason for anyone of reasonable
intelligence to ever install Windows either. That is the first step to
getting a virus you know.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that.

So, you're saying that no intelligent person would browse the
internet, receive email or download files using a Microsoft product.

I'd have to agree with you absolutely.

Have a nice day.

1. Virus maker propagates virus onto internet.

2. Virus detection programmers find out about it hours/day later and
incorporate it into their virus signatures.

3. People download new virus signatures.

Somewhere between 1 and 3 there is a small window of opportunity for
the virus to infect computers.

Unless you mean that we should never surf the net!!!

That presupposes you were using windows or your argument doesn't make
any sense.I hope you know that microsoft windows didn't really exist
in 1985.I can check for you, but I'm pretty sure that M$ hadn't
started on OS/2 that early.

Also, I could telnet to systems at other colleges and universities in
the mid-70's, but I don't consider that the "internet". I think the
thing most people consider the internet, the World Wide Web, didn't
happen until around 90-91. I don't think anyone outside of the
military and university folk could use arpanet before about 88-89. I'm
sure if I'm wrong, you'll enlighten me.

Later.
