Out of the blue I have been asked for my username and password - I have been
using windows mail for about 8 months and have not been requested before - am
getting error message - Account: 'pop3.uwclub.net', Server:
'pop3.uwclub.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Could not determine
server', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC92

Checked online for advice and can't find anything relevant to Windows mail
and Vista. Some mention Anti Virus' as being problems - I am using AVG and
have always found it brilliant - never had a problem before. Please can
anyone help? I can send mail but not receive it. Thanks

This could be a temporary server fault?
Check your ISP website for 'Service Status' or report the problem to them?

I did a tracert on that server and reached lon-gs2dmrelay.mistral.net. Does
that
look like a company that should be running the server for you?

Did you use a standard install for AVG? If so, it may help to uninstall it,
then
do a custom install where you tell it to leave out the part that scans
email.

Try deleting the account, then restart Windows Mail and recreate that account.
It may have become corrupted.
As Robert suggested, make sure AVG was installed using 'custom' install
which enables you to leave out the troublesome mail scanning module.
