I'm getting a self-shutdown by Windows Mail about an hour or so after I boot
the program every morning. I cannot determine what is triggering this. Any
ideas?

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them tend to cause
assorted problems in Windows Mail, although seldom immediately.

I'm using the McAfee offering that comes "free" from Comcast with my
broadband service. I've read this has issues with Windows Mail, and have
just disabled the email scanning (in and out) to see if that makes a
difference. I was using Trend Micro Internet Security prior to the McAfee
product, and cannot recall exactly when this problem arose. I think it was
after I did a new Visat install a while back in order to try and fix a
different problem.

It's strange the impromptu shutdown only occurs once about an hour after
booting the program. It does a "graceful" shutdown, alerting me to save any
email I am composing at the time. And once I restart it, it doesn't happen
again until a new cold boot of the system.
