For some reason, a taskbar has suddenly appeared on my desktop. I have no clue what I did to put it there, and have found no way myself to remove it
It is a two-inch, white bar running the full height (top to bottom) on the left side of my desktop. It contains boxes for "Folder Tasks", "Other Places", and "Details". Information contained there changes as an icon on the desktop is clicked. It appears to operate the same as the pages I get after choosing My Computer or Control Panel from the Start menu. Everything else appears to have remained the same. Right-clicking on the white bar does nothing. Right-clicking on the options within the white bar does nothing. Pausing over the option headers results in "These tasks apply to.....". The little arrows on the headers merely show options for whatever the shortcut is that it is showing or removes those options from view
I don't so much care what I did to get the crazy thing as I do about getting rid of it
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated
Have a blessed day.
