SUBTOTALS in excel2003 differs from excel2000

I want to make subtotals in two levels. First subtotal is
ok, then second subtotal which is within the first gives
wrong result. When data within one level of first
subtotal only contains one unique total, the total line
for this is put outside the first subtotal!
The same thing done in excel2000 gives a correct result.
