Hi,

I was a long-time (since DOS 3.1) user of the SUBST
command, but XP has made me dumb.

How does one use the SUBST command (or other means) to
point drive letters at directory names (during system
startup)?

This is (preferably) a global requirement, not just for my
own login (although that would help for a start :).

Any help appreciated
Chris

Type subst/?

go>start\all programs\accessories\command prompt and type
in subst/? . Keep smiling.

Sorry for the misunderstanding - I have used this command
since about 1987, and am very familiar with the syntax.

What I'm not understanding is how to invoke SUBST during
WinXP startup - before or after logging into my user name.
Something like the XP equivalent of AUTOEXEC.BAT (this
doesn't work)?
