I need to insert some text on each page, that the Styleref field will
pickup, the text will be "Revision nr". I'll make the font white wo it won't
show on paper, but where can I put it without interfering with the rest of
text? Also, can I put it say vertically at the very left of the paper or
will I then get a message that some of the text are outside the printable
area?

Kind regards Allan

Instead of formatting the text as white, you could format it as Hidden, just
make sure Tools | Options, Print is not set to print Hidden text. You can
show and hide Hidden text by clicking the ¶ on the standard toolbar. You
can put Hidden text anywhere, just do all print preview, pagination, and
layout editing with Hidden text hidden. Hidden text is marked with a row of
dots underneath it and will not interfere with the rest of your document.

How about using a framed style, with the horizontal position set into the
margin? That way you can anchored the text where you want it.

This would be ideal if it worked. Unfortunately, the Hidden property is the
*only* direct formatting the StyleRef field picks up. <sigh>

I suspect it's "by design."

That doesn't work, although it ought to! It is wierd because the StyleRef
field does see the text, otherwise it would give an error, but it won't
display it!

Right, I see it, now that I have a moment to test.

Here's a possibility, but it's not something I really *like*:

Format the "hidden" style not as hidden, but as 1 point, with a very high
condensed character spacing. The really tricky part would be that you can't
see it, so could end up deleting it only too easily.
