Hi

I have tried to do a dictionary style header in Word and it just doesn't work. I inserted the following in the header
{STYLEREF <company>} {STYLEREF < company> \l

that same thing prints - not the actual company names

I did a mailmerge for a directory of companies. I attempted to do the STYLEREF code with a 'style' in parenthesis and it still doesn't work. HELP!!!

please email me if you have the answer!!!

Hi Angel

First of all, the second thing in each StyleRef field must be the name
of the style you used to format the company names in the text. If
<company> in your example is a style name, then you're ok; otherwise,
change it.

Second, you have to display field *results* instead of field *codes*.
The things you're looking at are the codes. Press Alt+F9, or go into
Tools > Options > View and uncheck the "Field codes" box, and you'll
see the results.
