You don't insert a template into a document; you create a document based on
that template, using File New. If the document has already been created, you
can attach the template (Tools | Templates and Add-ins), but you'll get only
styles; if you want the entire layout of the template, you need to create a
new document based on that template, then insert or paste your existing
document into it.
