There has got to be a better way to this…
How do you copy styles from one document (Normal.dot) to a current document?
The style organizer seems to only allow you to copy styles from an active
document into normal.dot, but not from – there is only a one-way copy button,
and the right side only allows you to select Normal.dot.
Also is there a better way to edit styles other than the
single-feature-at-a-time style editor?

If you click the "Close File" under normal.dot, the button will change to
"Open File". Then you can browse to that document/template and open it to
copy styles.

I use the organizer, close the normal template, open my user template,
highlight all style entries in my user template, click the copy button
pointing to my active document, reply "yes to all", and close the organizer.
The styles are not copied. For example, my user template has headings 1-9.
After the steps just described, my active document has only headings 1-5. Am
I not doing something that's required to make the copy work? Thanks.

How do you know they are not copied? Do they not show up in the Organizer
under the styles?
