Stuck in setup

I tried to upgrade a new laptop from XP Home to XP Pro. After asking for the product key for the second time (now 34 minutes remaining) it says that the code is wrong. I can't exit setup. I can just reboot into the middle of SETUP and can't cancel.
 
Hi Paul,

Are you trying to install an OEM version (i.e. a copy that came with a Dell
computer) onto a machine not made by that manufacturer?
