Well, it was a good try but alas, the recovery console did not fix my
problem. The computer still continues to boot up in safe mode no matter what
I try.
Furthermore, any attempt to turn "System Restore" back on.... via System
Settings tab...results in this frustrating message:
"the system is currently running in safe mode. System restore can not be
turned on while running in safe mode.
Please reboot in normal mode, and then enable System Restore".
--- if I could boot in Normal mode, I wouldn't even have a problem!!!!
I've also tried manually selecting "Start Normally" from the F8 reboot
screen before windows launches but Safe Mode still persists.
I find it hard to believe that there isn't a more simple fix that
reinstalling WindowsXP ---and all this entails.
Any ideas anyone?????
