Hello,
I hope someone can help me. Yesterday my PC started
rebooting itself so I ran the recovery console. Now I
get as far as the loading Windows screen and it
says "please wait" it asks for several files off of the
XP CD and service pack 1 CD. I give it the files it is
asking for and I get to a setup screen asking me to
select the country I am closet to, type of keyboard I
use, etc. Once I click next on the screen nothing
happens. It sits at the same screen. For a while there
is activity on the hard drive but then it just stops and
sits there. I have let it sit for hours and nothing
happens. If I power off the PC and power it back on I
have to go though the whole thing again. Any ideas as to
what I should try? I should also mention I was unable to
boot in safe mode but I do not think it is a harware
problem.

Thanks,
Jen

Hi,

try to boot your installation cd and when it asks for os repair the first
time just get over it then acknowledge the eula and after this it asks the
second time to do os repair, so select it. It will copy all files from the
cd to hdd, but registry and settings remain the same, so if you have a
problem with corrupted files, it will solve it.

Hello,
I have done this several times I and I still can not get
past the blue setup page. However sometimes I can not
even get past the black "please wait" screen. Is there
anyway to force my way past this?

Thanks,
Jen
