Hello, i see like 6 strange win xp revisions intalled on
my pc. I never installed them. I deleted all exept one
called Winxp-KB823980 which does not have an uninstall
option.

My DSL connection keeps sending info to the net by
itself. Could these be related?
How can i delete that revision?

Thank you!

Everything is fine. Those 'revisions' you see are
Microsoft XP Updates. If you do not want your machine
to 'AutoUpdate', just disable it, however, you should
leave it on, so it can download all critical updates as
needed. If you want to disable, in XP, just right-click
My Computer(in start menu)---->Click Properties---->Click
Automatic Updates tab----From here it should be simple,
just follow directions.

Luidinno,

This is a security patch that you are trying to delete.
MS03-026: Buffer Overrun in RPC May Allow Code Execution

- Why are you insistent on deleting these security patches?
- Are you strictly deleting the folders that these are in or are you going
to Control Panel to "uninstall" them? [Uninstall is the proper way, if this
is indeed what you are trying to do.]

Regarding your DSL connection, Internet traffic is a continuous thing
regardless of your computer activity and there are hackers/viruses/etc. that
are continually probing your DSL modem/router to try to break into your
machines. For instance, I'm on a cable modem and router (with NAT) and I see
continual traffic even when every computer and network printer is powered
off. Since I'm firewalled, I don't concern myself too much about this
activity. If I didn't run a NAT and software firewall, I'd be very concerned
about what it is doing!
