Strange things listed...

Still having the problem with system restore. I know to go to the regit and
disable the two things...have done that before. Here's the problem, there
are many things listed on this that weren't there before! I had to get a new
hard drive a couple of months ago, and the tech reinstalled a different
version of XP..so my thinking is that this is what's from that.
MY Question: do I need these things???? Here is a list of what they are.
The type are all the same: Reg_DWord the values are different obviously.
CompressionBurst
Create First RunRp
Disk Percent
DS Max
DS Min
Restore Disk space Error
RP Global Interval
Thaw Interval
Timer Interval
Of course Disable SR was there, I already deleted that out, but it did not
replace my tabs in My Computer.
DO I NEED THESE THINGS?? thanks for helping

Did he give you a new license and product code? If it's a
different version, your old codes will no longer work and you
won't be able to reinstall when it becomes necessary.

I'd call him and take it back, telling him you want it done
right. He apparently left some of his own software on it and
that was wrong, too, OR he turned on some things you weren't
aware of. Those sound like system analyzers to me.
Also, are you SURE those weren't there before? Have you been
changing the registry without being positive of what you were
doing?

Whoever did that doesn't sound very reliable to me either. I'd
be most concerned with whether you have a valid XP license and
code any longer.
