Hello,

I have a strange problem on my Windows 2000 professional with service pack 4
and all other critical updates. It happened every time after I booted
Windows and used it for some time (one or several hours), I can't find any
applications I used could cause this, here is the behaviors when the problem
happens:

1. When I shutdown or restart the computer, it displays "You do no have the
permission to shut down (or restart) this computer".
2. ZoneAlarm will shutdown, its control panel displays an error message:
"system error", have to reboot to make ZoneAlarm work again.
4. AntiVirus can't perform important functions, such as scan, update, etc.
5. Can't copy/paste from Browser, including IE and Firefox. But copy/paste
still works well in normal text editors, such as UltraEdit.

Also I can't do some other system operations, I didn't try many things
though. For example: "ipconfig /flushdns" will get a message "can't flush
the DNS cache". Overall, it seems that one important system service has
problem, all applications that rely on it can't run properly.

I searched the internet and it didn't help, any suggestions would be
appreciated, I wish I don't have to reinstall Windows, actually I installed
it less than one month ago.

Regards, Kevin
