I am running Windows XP SP1. About 24 hours ago when booting up my PC
I found it took about 15 minutes to boot and when it finally burst
into life the taskbar had disappeared. I tried a re-boot, but found
this also took about 15 mins to complete, and similiar again when
restarting.
I re-installed Windows XP from my Dell supplied reinstallation CD and
everything was OK, taskbar fine, shut down speed fine - but when I
sestart again the same problem. I again reinstalled the OS, again fine
when running, but it goes pear shaped after shutting down.
When I try to drag the taskbar up to make it visible the mouse cursor
changes to the double headed arrow, but no drag happens.
I have run a full virus scan, and nothing was found
I have had one strange error message, which I'm unsure is connected:
"iexplore.exe - application error The instruction 0x77f516c5
referenced a memory at 0x02700010. The memory could not be read"
Any advice/help/suggestions about the problem would be very much
appreciated.
