I am working on a spreadsheet. I acidently brought my view down to 25%.
All of a sudden, what looks like two big text boxes appear on my screen with
big blue letters. One box appears to read DIRINPUT and the other box on top
of the first box reads TEST. I played a little and found that these boxes
appear when I view my spreadsheet at any percentage less than 40%. When I
go into Page Break mode it goes away, and it doesn't appear when I print.

It doesn't appear to be causing harm to the spreadsheet, but I have never
seen anything like it.

Has anyone seen this?

These are range names. And excel is trying to be helpful.

And it sounds like the developer was testing (TEST) how to use range names.

Hit Edit|Goto and type in DIRInput (or TEST) and you'll see the range that each
refers to.

It turns out to be a very nice feature for people who use range names.
