hello, i've a problem. I have two computers, connected via a lan, just with
one cable. This computer (host) connects to the net at 56k. The other
computer, which connects to this computer for the internet behaves oddly; if
I sign on to msn messenger.. I can see all the contacts signed in, but they
can't reply to me if I send them a message, they don't get the message.
Also going to the microsoft website times out and doesn't work. This problem
probably applies to other websites too... but google for instance works
fine...
To try to fix this I reran the network setup wizard on both pcs, and it did
fix it! for a few days... then these problems started happening again.. i
tried removing all spyware and viruses, but no difference, not that there
were any viruses.
I don't have any of these problems on the host of the network (this
computer), what can i do? heard of this problem before?

Keep the Windows Firewall up on the computer that's directly connected to
the internet, but disable it on the other one. The firewall is the most
likely suspect when you're having connectivity problems on remotely
connected PCs using ICS.
