Strange Keyboard Error

Hi, I've been having a strange problem on a PC at the office. Everything on
this PC works fine except when I use the inverted comma ("). If I type it in
word or notepad, etc it doesn't appear on the screen. It only appears if I
press it again but then it shows 2 of them... (I hope I'm making sense!).
I have found this on 2 machines here and have tried formatting and
reloading, running Windows Update.
Any ideas?

Not strange. You have a keyboard configured for accent marks. Try using
the key next to the zero key. Either that or configure the keyboard for
American English.

You are using the US-International keyboard layout rather than the
ordinary US keyboard layout. You may even have the two or more keyboard
layouts configured and have toggled between them.

If you don't have the Language Bar present on your taskbar (Toolbars >
Language Bar), then see Control Panel > Regional Settings > Languages
[tab] > Details.
