strange font colors?

This is something I've just noticed.. all of the i's and l's in the words in
my Outlook, taskbar pop ups and taskbar program groups have a brown
background?? Weird. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?

ClearType often produces unwanted artifacts on CRTs. Small fonts in
particular usually show a blotchy colour effect. ClearType is intended
for LCD/TFT screens only.

If you are using ClearType with a CRT, use standard font smoothing
instead. Display Properties | Appearance | Effects.

If you have an LCD/TFT monitor, try the ClearType Tuner (part of the
unsupported Windows XP powertoys, freely available from Microsoft).

If ClearType is not the issue, perhaps you have a corrupt font file.
Try changing your Advanced Appearance settings to identify which
font is at fault. Change all elements using the font, then re-install the
font.

If that's still not the issue, perhaps you should check your graphics
drivers are up to date.
