Hi all

On start up if I am connected to the network i get an
error message before desk top loads

Cannot find file 'copy'

If you press okay move through to desk top but very
annoying.

Then on the web...some sites a pop up error comes up
saying

e.g Cannot open "msn.com/help/problems/yourarephucked"

then it goes to the default error screen this is even
after the page has loaded.

I suspect that there is a random app or similar running
but I am unbale to find it. I have done the following:

Looked for malicious apps on Start menu, remove s/w link,
looked at start up folder, run a programme to remove
miners etc and ad pop up apps

None of the errors are logged on "Event Viewer" either.

I would appreciate ANY advice! I am totally lost as what
to do now

Cheers
Parry

Greetings

1. Open Regedit by going to Start>>Run and then typing regedit.

2. Then do a find for "winshow" When any key is found, delete it by
pressing the delete key. Be sure to hit the F3 (Find Next) key after
each. There are about 10 or so that need to be find. Regedit will say
"Finished Searching" when complete.

3. Repeat the same step above, but this time search for "winlink"

4. After that is done, close regedit.

5. You will then have to search for the the .dll files stored on the
harddrive. Go to search for files at c: Then search for "winshow" and
"winlink" Delete any files that you find. (Im my case I did not find
any files named winlink)

6. Restart the computer
