Strange Bug: Atari 2600 Adventure sounds in Windows 2000?

Before responding with "just turn the sounds off", please note that I already have the sounds for Minimize and Maximize turned off via the Sounds and Multimedia in the Control Panel.

Here is the issue: Whenever I minimize or maximize a window, there is a VERY FAINT audio that plays, a gradual "up" sound when I minimize, and a gradual "down" sound when I maximize.

The "up" sound is reminiscent of the sound-effect that plays when you pick up an item in the Atari 2600 game, "Adventure".

The "down" sound is reminiscent of the sound-effect that plays when you drop an item in the Atari 2600 game, "Adventure".

The audio doesn't BOTHER me, but I'm just curious: Am I insane or was this intended so sound that way or what? Hello?

Since minimise and maximize are turned OFF i don't think it is intended to
make any noise.

Does this remain with ALL sounds off?

What do you mean by "All Sounds"? All Audio? Hold on..

I mean, when I'm running Windows Media Player, it's blocked out, and I can tell it's not a wa

It sounds like some sort of 8-bit-based feedback when I open/close

The Sound Event for Windows->Minimize and Windows->Maximize is set to [none]

The audio is VERY VERY faint. I suggest putting on headphones, plugging them into a Windows 2000 machine, cranking up the audio to it's highest level, setting your Win->Min and WIn->Max Sound Effects to [none] and giving it a whirl yourself, just to see that I'm not crazy.

I just noticed

I turned the volume up and my headphones filled with standard staaticy feedback (there is no audio), and the minimize/maximize 8-bit sound I'm hearing is very faint

I turned the volume to off and my headphones got clear of static (since the speakers aren't busy trying to transmit me NOTHING at a loud volume), and the minimize/maximize 8-bit sound is STILL THERE, but just as faint

Volume doesn't control it
