Strange Behavior

Never seen anything like this before. Suddenly, when certain keys are
pressed on the keyboard (its a laptop) different characters come up on the
screen. For instance, when I type "a", what shows on the screen is "ai".
If I type "i", what shows on the screen in "ai". When I type "f", the
characters "8f" are displayed. There are several others that also behave
badly. Other than that, everything else seems to be fine. Anyone know of a
way to rectify this? Thanks

Have you checked that non of the buttons are stuck down. Also I would try a
different keyboard on the system.

Possibly could be a defective keyboard.

Definately not stuck keys, but I will try another keyboard.
