Strange beep coming out from my pc

Hi,
I've a strange problem with my system (windows xp pro)...
During a normal working session some noising beeps coming out from my
internal speaker;
Those beeps are not equal in frequency and duration (sometimes there are no
beep for hours, and
sometimes I can heard several "ring" in a minute!)

I'm sure that I have no virus (Netsky and so on): I've made all check with a
large variety of AV software...

Could anyone help me?

It sounds as though your CPU is not happy about something - possibly
overheating?.
The later ones emit different warning sounds depending as to what the
problem is.
 
I've thought the same thing, but the sound that the system produce is not
equal...

it's possible that my system alert me with a kind of strange beeping music
instead of a single long beep or a sequence of rapid beeps?

I've lanched the asus probe to monitor my cpu/case/memmory/ temperature but
all seems to be right...


HELP!!!!!!
 
Overclocking causes more heat to be generated and processors shut down when
the temperature gets too high.
 
New ASUS MB's use BIOS beep codes to warn of hardware faults. If you have a
motherboard manual look in there for "beep codes". If you don't have a
manual then you could go to the ASUS web site and look up the online manual
for your MB there.
 
.... OK... Now I'm absolutely sure that there is no problem with my
temperature or with my motherboard:

I've entered in the POST and after 1 hour I've noticed that no beep is
emitted...
I've entered in windows and after a while my computer begin to beep...

The real question now is: do you know if there are some virus/malware that
make my pc beeping?

But now I've the problem to remove it... Norton 2004 and pc-cillin didn't
find it!!!!!

Do you know how can I do?
 
Yes.. I've launched a lot of av programs (Norton, Pc-cillin, and so on) but
They did'nt found anything
