Ok, here's the situation.
Created a file and transfer wizard file from current computer (just
setting). About a week later I then did clean install of Win XP and Outlook
2002 and used the saved file and settings transfer file to re-install my
settings and pst file. This all worked fine except that e-mails for one pop3
account keep downloading!! Now, the strange thing is that this doesn't
happen everytime it polls the server, it just happens the next day. For
example:
Day 1
Boot up PC
Open outlook
Check for e-mail
Download 10 messages
check for e-mail
Download no more messages
Turn off PC
Day 2
Boot up PC
Open Outlook
Check for e-mail
Download same 10 messages from day before
check again for e-mail
Download no more messages
Turn off PC
Hope that makes sense. As I say, the settings have not been changed - I
simply used the transfer wizard (albeit a week later which could be the
problem). The e-mail account in question is set to leave copies of messages
on the server for 10 days but this has never caused any problems in the
past.
Anybody got any ideas what causing this? If not then all I can think of is
to make a copy of the pst file, uninstall outlook and the re-install.
Thanks in advance
